Mountain Family Retreat

Some of our favorite projects are about more than landscaping—they're about creating spaces where life happens.

Having worked with this family across multiple homes and projects over the years, we were honored to help bring their vision for this property to life. Their goal was simple: create a backyard that would serve as an extension of their home and a place where children, parents, grandparents, and friends could gather together.

To support that vision, the landscape was designed with a variety of connected spaces that encourage both activity and relaxation. A custom fire pit patio creates a natural gathering place for evenings outdoors, while the dining area provides space for family meals and celebrations. A putting green, open lawn areas, pathways, and play spaces ensure there is something for every generation to enjoy.

One of the most rewarding moments of this project came during photography. As we captured the finished landscape, the family was outside sharing dinner, children were playing, and the space was being used exactly as intended.

That is ultimately what great landscape design is about—not just creating beautiful spaces, but creating places where memories are made.
