A Modern Backyard Rooted in Simplicity

This backyard landscape was designed to reflect a modern approach grounded in simplicity, clarity, and thoughtful material selection. The focus of the design was to create a clean, functional outdoor space that feels open and intentional while remaining comfortable for everyday use.

Large poured concrete stepping stones establish strong visual lines and guide movement through the yard, creating structure without overwhelming the space. Corrugated steel planting beds introduce texture and a modern industrial element, adding contrast against the softer materials used throughout the landscape.

Turf areas were incorporated to provide low-maintenance, usable space that balances the hardscape elements and supports a clean overall aesthetic. Mulch was used to soften transitions between materials and keep the design visually grounded.

The result is a modern backyard that feels refined and uncluttered—demonstrating how simplicity, restraint, and thoughtful material choices can create a cohesive and inviting outdoor environment.
